State Police: Man Drove Drunk With Kids in Car

Police say Vince V. Mojica was arrested following a traffic stop in Dix Hills on July 4.

A Manhattan man was arrested in Dix Hills last week, accused of driving drunk with children in his car, according to New York State Police.

According to police, troopers pulled Vince V. Mojica, 26, over on the westbound side of the Northern State Parkway when they saw his pickup truck fail to stay in its lane.

After an investigation revealed that Mojica was intoxicated, he was placed under arrest, police said.

Police said there were two children in Mojica's vehicle under the age of 16, so Mojica was charged with a felony DWI under Leandra's Law.

He was additionally charged with endangering the welfare of a child and other traffic violations. Mojica is being held on $1,000 bail and is due back in court on Wednesday.
